On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Women Development Cell (WDC) of the institute organised a seminar titled “Mechanisms for Protection and Effective Response to Sexual and Mental Harassment.” The seminar was organised for the benefit of women in the institute to create awareness about safety, dignity, and legal protection mechanisms related to sexual and mental harassment.

The program was organised under the guidance of Principal Shri H. C. Parmar and coordinated by the Women Development Cell (WDC).

The seminar was conducted on 9 March 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Seminar Hall, Department of Computer Engineering.

The session was delivered by Mrs. Payal P. Barot, Assistant Professor, S.K. College of Business Management, Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan, who served as the resource person for the seminar. She provided valuable insights on understanding different forms of harassment and the mechanisms available to prevent and address such issues effectively.

During the seminar, the resource person explained important aspects such as:

• Understanding sexual and mental harassment in educational and workplace environments
• Legal provisions and protection mechanisms available for women
• The role of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Women Development Cell (WDC)
• Preventive measures and support systems for victims
• The importance of awareness, confidence, and timely reporting of harassment incidents

The seminar was informative and engaging, helping students understand their rights and responsibilities in maintaining a safe and respectful environment within the institute.

A total of 95 girl students from various departments actively participated in the seminar. In addition, 6 female faculty members attended the program and contributed to the event's success.
