The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a premier national, professional, non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening and enhancing the technical education system in India. With its core motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students, ISTE plays a vital role in the overall growth of technical education in the country.

As the only national organization representing educators in the fields of engineering and technology, ISTE actively contributes to various initiatives and missions of the Union Government. Its strength lies in its widespread presence and strong foundation across technical institutions nationwide.

Objectives of ISTE

The primary objectives of ISTE include:

·         Providing high-quality training programs for teachers and administrators in technical institutions

·         Enhancing knowledge, skills, and professional competencies

·         Promoting excellence in technical education

·         Contributing to the development of highly skilled engineers and technicians required by industry and society

 

ISTE Student Chapter

The ISTE Student Chapter serves as the student wing of ISTE and is established in many AICTE-approved technical institutions across India. It aims to actively involve students in ISTE initiatives and provide them with opportunities for professional growth.

 

Purpose

The key objectives of the ISTE Student Chapter are:

·         To disseminate knowledge related to both theoretical and practical aspects of engineering and technology

·         To support the professional development of students through participation in technical events, workshops, and ISTE activities

 

Eligibility for Membership

Students are eligible to join the ISTE Student Chapter if they:

·         Are enrolled in a full-time or part-time program in an AICTE-approved technical institution

 

Establishing a Student Chapter

To establish an ISTE Student Chapter in an institution:

·         The institute must hold ISTE Institutional Membership

·         A minimum number of student members must be enrolled as per ISTE guidelines

 

ISTE at K. D. Polytechnic, Patan

The ISTE Student Chapter at K. D. Polytechnic, Patan has been successfully established to promote technical excellence and student development within the institute.

·         The institute became an ISTE Institutional Member in 2023

·         The official ISTE Student Chapter Code is GJ-088

This chapter serves as a platform for students to enhance their technical knowledge, develop professional skills, and actively participate in national-level ISTE activities.
