This lab equips students to study concrete properties, mix design, and quality control. Key facilities include compression testing machines for strength evaluation, slump cones and compaction factor apparatus for workability tests, Vicat's apparatus for cement setting time, Le-Chatelier molds for soundness, concrete mixers, vibrating tables, curing tanks, and sieves for aggregate analysis.
The lab supports experiments on soil behavior, classification, and foundation design. Typical equipment covers sieve shakers for grain size analysis, liquid/plastic limit devices (Casagrande apparatus), proctor compaction molds with rammer for density tests, , permeability setups (constant/variable head), core cutters, direct shear boxes for shear strength of soil.
